| Graduate Shares How She Found Success in Athletics
Drexel University's Director of Athletics, Maisha Palmer Kelly '95, was interviewed by The Philadelphia Sunday. She spoke about her time as a student-athlete, running and acting as captain of the GMAHS cross-country and track and field teams, led by Coach Larry Wilson, and what it means to her to become the first African American woman to lead Drexel University athletics in the school’s 131-year-old history.
The article shares: "As a go-getter and a barrier-breaker, Kelly worked hard to get to this point in her life and continues to do so in her historic new role at Drexel, as well as being a mom to her two children. This position is the greatest honor of her life and her familiarity with the school and the area where she grew up is a plus, she said." |
